The Brief

A collection of nine cottages, all varying in size and scale, was being brought to market with the interiors still at shell stage. The challenge was to help potential buyers see the possibilities of the spaces and understand how they could work as comfortable homes for longer stays.

The kitchen: blue Shaker cabinets, an oak worktop, a Belfast sink, handmade tiles and a brass wall light The hallway: a patterned Roman blind, an oak bench and boots beneath the window

The Approach

One of the smaller two-bedroom cottages was selected as a show home. The studio designed the interiors in full, from the finishes and furniture through to the lighting and final styling, creating a relaxed and contemporary home that made the most of its compact footprint and connection to the outdoors.

A bedroom with a green velvet headboard, embroidered cushions, a rattan wall light and an oak wardrobe

The Result

A welcoming, considered home that demonstrated the potential of the wider development. The show home sold immediately following completion, leading to two further properties being commissioned.
