The Events Barn

Rutland · Hospitality & Events

The Brief

A converted cattle shed in the Rutland countryside, designed to host everything from weddings and celebrations to large corporate events. The interior needed to feel like a sophisticated blank canvas, while still having enough character and personality to feel special for guests.

Cross-back chairs dressed with white chiffon in rows before indoor trees
Round tables laid for dinner under glass pendants, with timber panelling and indoor trees beyond

The Approach

The design balances the rural setting with a sleek, modern interior. High ceilings are softened with considered lighting to bring the scale down and create a more intimate atmosphere, while classic materials and elegant detailing add warmth and sophistication.

The bar: dark oak shelving with brass lights and leather bar stools

The bar and adjoining preparation space were designed to work across different events, from a wedding party getting ready to a professional conference, without either feeling out of place.

The preparation room: lit arched mirrors with hand-painted branches and birds over an oak dressing table with sage chairs The lounge: a curved banquette and rattan chairs beneath trees and dappled light

The Result

A flexible, elegant events space that feels contemporary within its countryside setting, providing a refined backdrop that can adapt to each occasion while retaining its own character.
